This was meant for my blog but It was not working
I think there are as many good things about America as there are bad things.
The production line started by Henry Ford gave us cheaper products and that's good.It also increased employment.
Then there's the internet ,computers, flight, t.v, movies. While not all invented in the U.S they where modified improved and made it possible for the general public to obtain.
It's true most people do not like the gun culture in the U.S myself included. And the welfare system is not that good .
Racial tensions are not just a problem there.
A lot gets polarized because it is the U.S.A
Lets see how much changes once the new president is elected next year. I just hope they get more people interested in voting this time.
The old saying ''only in America'' no longer applies its as outdated as the British 'stiff upper lip' or the 'ocker Aussie'
As I said its just my opinion, no raspberries or roses

voting should be compulsary in any society.
Maybe it should but very few countries have compulsary voting. I know we do here in Australia and maybe New Zealand,I'm not sure I know of any other countries that have compulsary voting.
Yes, very thoughtful Dieter. My point (rants) were aimed at their government, not so much the people. When we went to America, I loved it, the culture is so familiar, as we have all been brought up on it. The people were very perky (only word I can use to describe them, so forcefully cheerful) but the food was shite. Hey, you get shite food everywhere. My point was more the passive acceptance of murder, wars, killings etc.
The singing of the usa anthem
“And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:"
The new President will be very interesting either way I think. Either a young black man, or a woman, anyone really as long as it aint Bush, lol.
There are a lot of great things a bout America, but they unshaken belief that they are the best country in the world doesn't hold much with me. I am not saying Australia is any better, I just dislike the constant rubbing my face in their glee bit.
They need welfare, better education, better health services, and oh yes, prolly 7 million new homes for the poor bastards that over extended themselves financially.
Well said Patty!!
