*Fast paced
Santa, angels, jingles bells,
All those funny grandpa smells,
Poinciana wet with rain
Must be Christmas time again
Christmas in the suburbs!
Buses line the suburb streets
Looking at the lighting treats
Gardens blazing with delight
Surfing Santa looks a sight!
Christmas in the suburbs!
Hams are ordered, chooks are cooked
Beach house units are all booked
Traffic lines the high-way
Wrap the presents my way
Christmas in the suburbs!
Long beach walks, family talks
Singing in the park, singing in the dark,
Schools are out, togs are in,
Cricket’s on, who will win?
Christmas in the suburbs!
*softly and slowly
It’s Christmas time, it’s summer time
It’s time to go to bed,
Santa’s near, can you hear?
It’s time to rest your head.
Sleepy eyes, tired smiles,
It’s time to go to sleep,
Christmas Eve…in the suburbs
