Heard on the radio that Anna Bligh was on her way to ask the Governor to allow her to go to the polls, so rushed out the door with my camera and phone.

Why does she have to ask the governor to go to the polls?
Not sure, it's just the Australian way under our democracy, the Governor represents the Queen, and the Premier of the State has to ask if she can call an election, then form a new government. Better explantion peoples?
